What going to Korea through EPS costs
The Employment Permit System is run government to government: the EPS Korea Section of Nepal's Department of Foreign Employment works directly with HRD Korea. That keeps the cost low compared with most foreign employment, and it means there is no recruitment agency and no placement fee.
The costs that remain are mostly official fees, paid at different stages:
- Applying and the test. The EPS-TOPIK fee, set in each round's application notice.
- Documents. A passport if you do not have one.
- After selection. A medical check-up at an approved hospital.
- Before departure. The compulsory pre-departure orientation, insurance and the welfare fund, and the labour permit from the Department of Foreign Employment.
- Travel. The flight to Korea, and travel and stay in Kathmandu for the test, biometrics and medical.
Language classes are optional. Many candidates study at an institute; others prepare on their own.
Why there is no total here
Fees change between rounds, and figures published online disagree widely. Rather than show a number that may be wrong, the planner lists each cost so you can enter the amount from the official notice or your receipt and see the total and what is left to pay. Everything is saved on your device only.
Watch out for fraud
Because EPS has no agents, anyone who asks for money to "guarantee" selection, a visa or a job is not part of the programme. Pay official fees only through the channels named in the notices, and report anyone who asks for more to the Department of Foreign Employment.
