How JFT-Basic dates work in Nepal
Unlike the EPS-TOPIK, the JFT-Basic does not have one national exam day. It is a computer-based test delivered by Prometric at test centres in Nepal, and you book your own date, time and centre online.
Prometric opens bookings for Nepal in windows. A window has a date when booking opens and a test period of about six weeks; you can choose any available seat in that period. New windows are announced on Prometric's Nepal page, usually a few days before booking opens.
How to book
- Create a Prometric ID. Enter your name exactly as it is in your passport: a mismatch can stop you from taking the test.
- Be ready when booking opens. Seats are limited. When many people log in at once, the site puts you in an online queue, and once you are through you have about 20 minutes to finish.
- Choose your date, time and centre, and pay the fee shown on the booking screen. The fee is set by country and can change, so trust the amount on the screen.
- Keep your confirmation. Bookings cannot be cancelled. You can change the date, time or centre until three business days before the test (four if it falls on a weekend or a Japanese public holiday), if seats are free.
Using the time you have
The JFT-Basic has four sections (script and vocabulary, conversation and expression, listening, and reading), all answered on screen. Once your date is booked, put it in the countdown above and practise full timed tests in the same format, paying most attention to listening.
